Juriah Atan is a professional Storyteller, highly-experienced Phonics Teacher and much-sought after Speech and Drama Instructor/Trainer.
Juriah began her teaching career as a Childcare teacher in 1993. She then switched to being a freelance educator in Speech and Drama and Communication Skills in MOE Primary and Secondary Schools as well as Enrichment Centres. She has a Licentiate in teaching Speech and Drama from Trinity College London. She has coached candidates for the Trinity/Guildhall and LAMDA Speech and Drama examinations since 1996.
A strong believer in the importance of reading, Juriah is at ease teaching phonics using the Spalding Method, OG Method, Jolly Phonics and Fitzroy Methods. She has taught Reading programmes to children and facilitated Teachers/Parents Phonics Workshops since 2002.
Juriah is a professional member of Storytelling Association (Singapore) and Federation of East Asian Storytellers. She has told stories at various storytelling events and facilitated storytelling workshops for children and adults alike, both locally and internationally.
